Enjoy a day of food, wine and Medieval entertainment. James Arthur Vineyards and the Lincoln based Society for Creative Anachronism are teaming up to host the Vineyard’s 15th Annual Renaissance Festival, Saturday, May 19th from noon to 8:00 p.m..
The Society is dedicated to the study of arts and sciences if the Middle Ages. On the 19th, the group will conduct combat demonstrations in full armor throughout the day on the tournament lawn. There will also be artisans practicing and displaying their different crafts and hobbies as well wandering minstrels, dancers and singers. Archery will also be a part of the day’s festivities.
Local talent such as Chris Sayre, The Throwing Picassos and Folk Harpist Jennifer Buehler will provide Renaissance style entertainment throughout the day.
This year’s festival once again features a large children’s area with games and crafts.The winery will provide wine tastings for the festival, including their Mead. Food will also be available throughout the festival, including turkey drumsticks, half chickens and other delectable Medieval selections.
The admission fee for the festival is $2 per person with all proceeds going to Heartland Big Brothers/Big Sisters. There will also be a charge for wine, food and children’s activities.
Live music each Saturday night from 6-9 pm out on the outdoor deck! No reservations, no cover charges.
