is a busy time at James Arthur Vineyards. With autumn comes the harvest of JAV's
grape crop.
Then, it's time to make wine. Award-winning wine. Step inside the JAV production area, and step inside a finely tuned operation for making great wine.
Each JAV wine has its own special taste, which stems from its own special recipe.
White grapes are ready first each autumn. Most are crushed, de-stemmed and then fermented. Reds soon follow, when most are crushed and fermented in their skins.
Then, comes the waiting part. Each JAV wine must wait its turn - sometimes for weeks, other times for months. Some spend this time in oak, others in stainless steel.
The final step comes in the bottling process. Each wine is placed in a specially designed bottle, corked, capsuled and labeled. Each bottle of JAV wine, along with its label, proves that great wine doesn't have to come from places far away.
James Arthur Vineyards also produces fruit and honey wines. The products are all Nebraska - apples from an orchard near Nebraska City, honey from near Auburn. Fruits come from orchards in Hickman and Ceresco.
